Dive 1 – The Grotto
The Grotto is a fascinating boat dive on Port Phillip Bay’s Lonsdale Wall system, named for its small caves and impressive rocky overhangs. Its ledges and crevices provide shelter for colourful marine life, including blue devil fish, leatherjackets, crayfish and nudibranchs, with the occasional Port Jackson shark resting beneath the rocks. With plenty of detail to discover, it’s a rewarding site for underwater photographers and divers who enjoy exploring Victoria’s temperate reefs.
Dive 1 – The Grotto
The Arches, also known as Lonsdale Arches, is a spectacular boat dive just outside Port Phillip Heads near Point Lonsdale. Its striking rocky formations and bommies create a fascinating underwater landscape, supporting abundant marine growth and fish life. Keep an eye out for southern blue devils, magpie perch, silver sweep and longsnout boarfish as you explore this scenic temperate reef—a rewarding destination for underwater photographers and marine life enthusiasts.
